new sketch card using a color scheme i’ve wanted to try for a while. i used a sepia pen to ink instead of a black one and it’s…. different! it’s also a thicker nib than I usually use, which makes it harder to define small details like pigeon legs. i also used a really old marker for the brown ground, which doesn’t have as good a flow anymore, so it came out patchy. next time i’ll try priming with a colorless blender first.

  2. weenietowne said: Sometimes when I get patchey color like that, I can smooth it out a little with a very unsaturated lighter color, like a very pale pink or yellow. I don’t know what kind of marker you use, or if there’s much of a difference, but it can help.
